MEDIUM RISK
Fleas
Fleas are small, blood-feeding parasites that can quickly infest homes, pets, and commercial properties. In Qatar’s warm climate, flea infestations can spread rapidly, especially in areas where pets or stray animals are present. Their bites cause itching, skin irritation, and allergic reactions in both humans and animals, while severe infestations can lead to discomfort and health concerns. Early detection and professional treatment are essential to eliminate fleas and prevent them from returning.
SIGNS OF INFESTATION
- Pets frequently scratch, bite, or groom themselves due to persistent flea bites,
- Red, itchy bite marks appear on people, typically around the ankles and lower legs.
- Fleas, flea dirt (black specks), or tiny white eggs are found on pets, bedding, carpets, or upholstered furniture.
- Flea activity continues despite regular cleaning, indicating an established infestation within the property.
PREVENTION TIPS
- Protect pets year-round with veterinarian-approved flea prevention treatments and regular grooming.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and pet resting areas frequently to remove fleas, eggs, and larvae.
- Wash pet bedding, blankets, and washable fabrics regularly in hot water to eliminate flea life stages.
- Schedule professional flea control treatments to completely eliminate infestations and prevent future outbreaks
