Spiders
Most spiders in Qatar are harmless and actually prey on other insects. However, certain species pose health risks through venomous bites, and large populations in homes or businesses create discomfort and hygiene concerns. Webs in commercial premises also give a poor impression to clients.
SIGNS OF INFESTATION
- Visible webs in corners, ceilings, or undisturbed storage areas,
- spider sightings especially larger species around light sources at night, egg sacs small,
- silken pouches attached to surfaces, an increase in other insects, which spiders feed on
PREVENTION TIPS
- Seal gaps around windows, doors, and utility entry points,
- Reduce outdoor lighting, which attracts insects that spiders prey on, remove clutter,
- Cardboard boxes, and undisturbed storage where spiders harbor, vacuum regularly,
- Especially in corners and behind furniture, clear vegetation and debris away from the exterior of the building.
